A Cold Wind is Blowing
Festival of the Lost
The festival of the lost is the closest thing Northern America has to a Grande Festival (excepting the famed Dia de los muertos of Mexico City) Organized and run by the Reject Obits, with the help of volunteers and allies from out of town. Taking the form of a massive Block Party, shutting down downtown Port Huron for a night of celebration, where all are welcome, including mortals, from families out for (completely protected) wholesome trick or treating fun, to more debauched parties held in basement clubs. Sin-Eaters from all over Canada and the Northern U.S. show up for the festival. Local Krewes place markers where the dead, both formerly and current, are welcome to party, and as the night moves on, smaller gatherings roll into larger parties, culminating in the Grand Wake in Port Huron’s Lakeside Cemetary, a huge pary where the Rum flows like water.
During the festival, Krewes are expected to be on their best behavior, for 2 rather compelling reasons. One, sin-eater tradition, and two, The Rejected obituaries make a lot of money from the straights during the celebrations, and no one wants to face the consequences for messing with their revenue stream.
